are several weekends this coming year that we will offer Monday for
FREE if you book Friday to Sunday at the Hobby House. That would give
you four days of crafting and hanging out with your friends. You can
even add Thursday for a small fee to make it five days of crafting.

You can reserve the Hobby House for a non-hosted Week-end – Base Price -
$420.00 (up to 6 people) – Each additional person (up to a maximum of
10) is $70.00 per person. All prices will have 13.5% tax added to them.
These Non-hosted Week-ends start at 9:00 a.m. Friday and end at 3:00
p.m. Monday. During a non-hosted week-end, you will be responsible for
your meals and all clean-up. The Boxcar Store will be open by
appointment.

New events
Our
July 18-20 crop is sold out. Don't worry, we still have room in our Aug
23rd day crop (early dinner and snacks are provided - cost $50) and we
are adding two new events.... August 16th come to the C.K.C. (Cool
Krafty Chicks) Bentonville event... come and craft for the day at this
non-hosted event - cost $35 (meaning you come and craft at your own 6'
table and you will need to provide your own food) AND August 19th is a CKC Tulsa review... come see what Dora learned at CKC Tulsa for free... starts at 6pm.
All three events do require registration and the crops require pre-payment to hold your spot.

You can reserve the Hobby House for a non-hosted Week-end
– Base Price - $510.00 (up to 6 people) – Each additional person (up to a

If you would like to come to the Hobby House during the day, we now have that option... for $25 a day, you can craft Monday to Thursday from 9am to 4pm.
If you would like to have an evening event, like a club meeting or a Pampered Chef party or a Stampin' Up party, etc The fee is $25 plus tax for 5pm to 10pm, Monday to Wednesday.

We are opening the Croppin' Train Hobby House.
Got a hobby but no time or space? Grab a few friends, and spend the week-end at the Croppin’ Train Hobby House!
Located just one block off the Bentonville Square, we have 10 twin beds and, more importantly, ten 6’ tables with office chairs on wheels! That’s right – no sharing required!
Everything you need to enjoy a hobby-filled week-end! Bedding, towels, kitchen for cooking (or just re-heating!), internet, and a well-stocked crafting supply area (all the items we take to our weekend retreat will be here). You just have to bring your comfy clothes, those fuzzy slippers, and your personal crafting supplies.
The Hobby House can be all yours from 9:00 a.m. on Friday to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday – come and go as you like. Take a short walk to the Square to enjoy the dining and shopping available – or just spend a few quiet moments contemplating your next project.
A new Neighborhood Market just opened across the street.
Weekend rental fee is $510 (plus tax) for 6 attendees and $85 for each sleeper over 6. Only $50 to hold your weekend. You can add Thursday and/or Monday to your weekend for $28 per person, per day.
Don't have a group of 6 to reserve the Hobby House... no worries, we will host a weekend once a month. We will also host classes on Tuesday's.

Wendy Senger
Wendy Senger, the creator of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, will be doing a demo at the Fall Retreat on November 10th. She will be sharing her knowledge of Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glam and some new products you cannot create without.

Miscellaneous Musings
Gosh! What happened to the month of July?!?
August will be here in just a few days, and, along with it, the beginning of school! If you're in Arkansas, remember that August 4 and 5 are "tax free" days in Arkansas. Be sure and check the details, as not everything is tax free.
If you live in Northwest Arkansas, you're probably familiar with the annual "Best of Northwest Arkansas" contest. If you're voting in the contest, we would like to ask you to vote for "Croppin' Train Scrapbook Retreat" for the "Best Weekend Get-Away" in the "Entertaiment" section. There is a complete ballot included in the Sunday paper, or you can enter online at nwaonline.com/best. Voting closes tomorrow, July 30.
Our final Croppin' Train Express event of the summer will be Saturday, August 4, at the Benton County Public Works building (formerly the Health Dept)on Hwy 102 in Bentonville. We will throw the doors open at 9:00 a.m. The building is air conditioned, so we can all enjoy a comfortable day of scrapbooking. We still have some empty seats, so if you need more details about this event, please contact us by phone (479-531-8518) or email (croppintrain@aol.com).
If you've read the July 9 posting, you'll see where Dora undertook the enormous task of organizing YEARS worth of digital photos - congratulations! I wanted to add a suggestion for those of you that are considering the same type of task. Because I've had 2 external hard drives crash, and lost everything that was on one of them, I don't like to keep all of my pictures in one place. I started buying 8GB and 16GB thumbdrives when they're on sale (like now!). I put all my pictures for one year on a separate thumbdrive. Most years, I can get by with an 8GB, but, if we had a wedding, a big vacation, or something else very special, I'll use a 16GB. For the older years, I've tried to at least create a subfolder for each month, and file the pictures accordingly. A couple years ago, though, I started creating both monthly and specific folders. I have specific folders for each person's birthday and one for each holiday. I haven't yet gone to the detail that Dora has, with reviewing what I've printed, scrapbooked, etc., but that is a great idea and one that I definitely need to do.
Has anyone NOT been on PINTEREST yet? I fear I could live there some days! There are some really great ideas with links to specific websites, blogs, etc. The "photography" category has terrific ideas for individual and family poses, clothes to wear, backgrounds, etc. Type "scrapbook" in the search box, and you'll see all kinds of layout ideas. As always, the "DIY and Crafts" category is chock-full of ideas for every crafter and every occasion.
Hope you enjoy your last few days of July, and are ready for school bells, books and bus traffic. :)
